Visiting researcher, March 2026 - present
Currently, I am based at Swedbank AB in Vilnius, Lithuania, as part of my MSCA secondment with the Corporate AI Scaling Strategy team. This placement is a core part of my doctoral research under the EU-funded DIGITAL Industrial Doctoral Network, where I am developing a proof-of-concept XAI interface designed to make AI explanations accessible and actionable for non-technical users in financial services. Working alongside Swedbank's AI team, I am translating insights from over 25 interviews with finance professionals, AI vendors, and central bankers — as well as large-scale public survey data — into a role-adaptive prototype that delivers plain-language, audience-dependent explanations of AI-driven financial decisions. The secondment runs through Q3 2026 and feeds directly into my dissertation chapters on explanation preferences and trustworthy AI design.
Visiting researcher, December 2023-June 2024
I wrote a master's thesis on the digitalization and blockchain integration to support indigenous mutual credit traditions, with a particular emphasis on the Sarafu Network in Kenya. Using both desk research and my two-month immersion, my research explored the impacts of transitioning community inclusion currencies from paper to digital formats, and their role in fostering economic resilience and community development. The work involves engaging with local communities, conducting participatory workshops, and analyzing data to understand the dynamics of alternative currency systems in promoting sustainable livelihoods.
This fieldwork formed the basis of my publication "Moneywork and Affordances behind Community Currencies: The Case of Sarafu Network in Kenya." This work is forthcoming in the International Journal of Community Currency Research.
Research Assistant, April 2021 - February 2022
I served as Research Assistant at the Ateneo School of Government contributing to the Business and Government portfolio. I co-authored three economics working papers, developed case study criteria and focus group discussion questions, constructed methodological frameworks, verified empirical models, applied for ethics clearances, submitted funder progress reports, and mentored a research intern in literature reviews and exploratory data analysis.
I contributed to the following working papers during my tenure:

Building Data-driven Customs Governance Tools: A Discussion on Methodological Framework
Marginal Propensity to Import as a Forecaster
